Battlefield 3 Massive Update 4-5 Juni

We are very happy to present the contents of our next Battlefield 3 game update!
This is a big one, rolling out June 4-5. Read on for the full details, including a solution to the M26 dart issue, reduced suppression, and the introduction of colorblind support on console.
The next Battlefield 3 update goes live June 4-5 on all formats.
As usual, the period between the last update and this upcoming one has been spent listening to our community, tweaking parameters, balancing performance, and eliminating issues that we have found with your help.
In short, the June update will make sure Battlefield 3 plays even better.

Internet Explorer 8 support to be discontinued on Battlelog
On Monday June 4th, Battlelog will officially discontinue support for Internet Explorer 8.
The Battlelog tech team, together with the global web developer community, is striving to help users upgrade their legacy browsers to enable a faster and smoother web browsing experience.
IE8 is quickly falling behind modern browsers in terms of compatibility and we want to focus our time and effort on developing and improving features on Battlelog.

Double XP weekend op 26 en 27 Mei.
Volgens de huidige nieuwsberichten zal aankomend weekend een Double XP weekend gehouden worden.
Indien je nog graag wat extra XP wilt behalen, is het aankomende weekend je kans.
Deze extra XP zal aan het einde van een ronde automatisch bij de punten opgeteld worden.

Algemene poll Origin shortcuts
Sinds kort zijn er in Origin zogemaande "shortcuts" voor Battlefield 3 te koop. Deze "shortcuts" zijn packs die je kunt kopen in Origin waarmee je wapens en accessoires voor diverse kits kunt krijgen,
door deze te kopen hoef je ze dus niet meer vrij te spelen in het spel zelf.
Omdat wij benieuwd zijn wat de bezoekers van onze site gaan doen met deze nieuwe "shortcuts" in Origin hebben wij hier een poll over gemaakt,

PlayStation 3 patch 27 maart, Xbox 360 en PC binnenkort
De langverwachte patch voor Battlefield 3 verschijnt 27 maart voor de PlayStation 3. Dit heeft DICE, de ontwikkelaar van Battlefield 3 bekend gemaakt via haar officiële blog.
Xbox 360 en PC spelers moeten nog even wachten, een exacte datum is nog niet vrijgegeven.
Deze patch brengt vele gameplay tweaks met zich mee en lost balans problemen op.
Ook brengt de update de functie "rent a server" voor de Xbox 360 en PS3 met zich mee, dit houdt in dat je je eigen server kan huren voor de console.

Hieronder lees je een begin van de verbeteringen die deze patch met zich mee brengen:
GENERAL GAMEPLAY FIXES:
-Players should no longer take fall damage from short falls.
-Players now get up from Prone slightly faster, allowing better odds of getting away from a grenade or threat when prone.
-Fixed some situations that would unintentionally make a player unrevivable.
-Reduced the black screen fade in time on spawn. The fade is still necessary for properly streaming in loading content at spawn, but it has been substantially reduced.
-Increased the spawn protection time from 1sec to 2sec. The protection will still be immediately canceled as soon as the player moves or shoots.
-Spawn protection will no longer be canceled by the player looking around.
-Increased the speed at which a player regains accuracy when aiming after moving for a more responsive experience. Firing before fully zoomed will still result inaccurate fire.
-Increased the inaccuracy and recoil added when a player is fully suppressed.
-Shotgun Buck and Flechette rounds now have a less suppressive effect at medium to long range.
-Tweaked the damage levels of Buck and Flechette rounds to balance them with other weapons.
-Improved the suppression of the .44 magnum, .357 magnum, and the 5.8x42mm DAP88 rounds from the Type88 sniper.
-Attempting to Crouch (like Prone) will now properly interrupt Sprint.
-Increased the effectiveness of Suppression Resist Specialization.
-Parachutes now respond to turn and throttle inputs more quickly.
-Switching from primary weapons to sidearms and back now takes less time.
-Increased the effectiveness of explosive resistance.
-Tweaked bipod deploy settings so players can no longer deploy a bipod in places higher than chin level.
-The bipod should now be more reliable when deploying on top of sloped objects like cars and rocks.
-Fixed several issues with vaulting objects, especially for thin railings.
-The Knife now only takes two swipes to kill when attacking from a position where a takedown is not possible.
-CRAM weapons on Carriers now count towards stationary weapon awards.

Close Quarters bevat nieuwe gamemode: Conquest Domination
Battlefield 3`s downloadable content Close Quarters bevat naast tien nieuwe wapens, vier nieuwe maps, nieuwe assignments en dogtags ook een nieuwe game-mode: Conquest Domination.
DICE heeft hiervoor gekozen omdat de Close Quarters maps zo klein zijn, dat Rush niet wordt ondersteund. In plaats daarvan kunnen we aan de slag met Conquest Domination, deze is wel geschikt voor kleinere, infantry gebaseerde maps. Het spawnsysteem lijkt op die van Team Deathmatch. De nieuwe game-mode lijkt op de Domination game-mode van Unreal Tournament.
Op de blog van Battlefield 3 zegt DICE het volgende over de aangekondigde gamemode:
“In particular, flag defense is suddenly more important, and you get different tactical layers due to the subtle differences the new mode provides.”

Battlefield 3-patch wacht op goedkeuring Microsoft en Sony
De aanstaande patch voor Battlefield 3 is ter goedkeuring aangeboden bij Microsoft en Sony.
Dit maakte Daniel Matros, de global communitymanager van Battlefield, bekend via Twitter.
Naar verwachting wordt de PC-patch ongeveer tegelijk uitgebracht met die van de Playstation 3 en Xbox 360.
Wanneer de update met de nodige aanpassingen uitkomt is afhankelijk van hoe snel Microsoft en Sony zijn met het controleren van de patch.
Bij de vorige patch die DICE aanbood voor Battlefield 3 duurde dit proces een week.
De Zweedse ontwikkelaar DICE plaatste in februari, na veel geklaag vanuit de community, een nog onvolledige lijst met aanpassingen die de patch met zich mee zal brengen.
Onder andere worden er aanpassingen gedaan aan voertuigen en de wapenbalans.
Zo wordt de schietsnelheid van de USAS-12, waar veel spelers zich aan ergeren, aangepast: er kwam veel geklaag dat het wapen te snel schoot met frag-ammunitie.
Binnenkort zal DICE een volledige lijst aanbieden op Battlelog.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Ziba tower gameplay
DICE beloofde vorige week al dat er in de loop van deze week nieuwe beelden van de aangekondigde DLC Close Quarters zouden komen. Dit hebben ze gedaan in de vorm van een gameplay trailer zoals we die gewend zijn van de ontwikkelaar uit Zweden; veel actie en mooie shots. De map die wordt getoond is Ziba tower. Zoals de naam doet vermoeden is dit een grote toren waar de actie zich bovenin de toren afspeelt.
